The Greatest Irony Of Love

A friend of mine sent it to me, so here, I'm sharing this :)

The greatest irony of love: Loving the right person at the wrong time or having the wrong person when the time is right; finding out you love someone after that person walks out of your life. For some, they think that letting go is one way of expressing how much they love that person. Some are afraid to see the one they love being held by someone else. Most relationships tend to fail not because of the absence of love, but because love is always present. It's just that one was being loved too much, and the other was being loved too little. Most often, we fall in love with the person we think we love, but to only discover that for them we are just for past times. While the one who truly loves us remains either your friend or a stranger.

When you think of your past love; you may view it as a failure; but when you find a new love, you view the past as a teacher. In the game of love, it doesn't really matter who won or who lost. What's important is that you know when to hold on and when to let go. You know that you love someone when you want him or her to be happy, even if their happiness means that you're not apart of it. Everything happens for a reason and for its best. If the person you love doesn't love you back, don't be afraid to love someone else again, for you'll never know unless you give it a try.

You'll never truly love a person, unless you risk for their love; love strives in hurting. If you don't get hurt, then you won't learn how to love. Love doesn't hurt all the time; though the hurting is there to test you, to help you grow. Don't find love, let love find you; that's why it's called falling in love, because you don't need to force yourself to love, you just fall. You cannot finish a book without closing the chapters. If you want to move on, then you have to leave the past as you turn the pages.

Love is not destroyed by a single failure or won by a single caress. But why is it that the greatest irony of love is letting go when you want to hold on, and holding on when you need to let go? You can never find the right person if you can never let it go of the wrong, but at the same time the moment you feel like letting go, you remember why you held on for so long. Sometimes you have to forget what you want and remember what you deserve.
To love is to risk rejection, to live is to risk dying and to hope is to risk failure. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing at all. To reach for another is to risk involvement, to expose your feelings is to expose your true self. To love is to risk not being loved in return.

How to define love: Fall but do not stumble. Be constant but not too persistent. Share and never be unfair. Understand and try not to demand. Hurt but never keep the pain.
Love is supposed to be the most wonderful feeling. It should inspire you and give you joy and strength. But sometimes the things that give you joy can also hurt you in the end. Loving people means giving them the freedom; whom they choose to be and where they choose to go. Loving someone means giving them the freedom to find their way, whether it leads towards you or away from you.

Love can be a painful risk. To love means that risk must be taken, no matter how scary or painful, for only then will you experience the fullness of humanity of what we call love. If you're not ready to cry, if you're not ready to take the risk and if you're not ready to feel the pain, then you're not ready to fall in love.

Afraid For Love Before It Can Come True

Sometimes, I feel I'm the dumbest girl on earth by letting you go. I often tell myself that it is supposed to be me you're sharing your dreams with, if I wasn't afraid then. I thought you're too good to be true and won't last long. I tried to maintain the friendship we've had just to spare my heart from getting hurt and so as your heart. Ironic! because I was afraid for love even if it didn't come true yet. Each night, you never failed to put a smile on my face. With every little things you did and said, it made me long to know you more. I know, love started to knocked on my heart that time because I already heard some nonsense noise coming from it. When you said that you're falling for me, I thought, it would be better to say awkward words than lose you.  All my life, I thought I was a risk taker, but yeah, I wasn't a risk taker at all because I couldn't even risk my heart.

The time when I wished to have someone like you, and when fate granted it, I wasn't ready at all. Then, somebody took the risk to catch you and I was left with nothing but a confused heart. But things happen for a reason, as I always say. I didn't deny that I felt a "little ouch" when I see you walked away from me. That was the time when I admire my heart again because it was able to skipped the pain and moved to another chapter of my life without getting broke.

Our little and short "love story" if you can call it that way- may not be one of those fairy tales with "... and they lived happily ever after" ending but there is one thing I should be thankful with- I made one princess the happiest girl on earth by having you- just tell her, she owe me a lot and if ever fate allow us to meet, she needs to treat me a lunch, or I'll win you back!. :)

I may not be the perfect girl for you, but just keep in mind that somehow, you've taught me something which made me realize that love will always be worth the risk :) Tnx, superman's friend! :D

I Miss Being In Love

I miss being in Love…

I miss how it feels warm and peaceful inside
I miss those calls just to say he’s thinking of you
I miss embracing him while laying by his side
I miss that feeling of intimacy when you know it’s so true

I miss being in Love…

I miss coming home to his arms open wide
I miss dancing together to sweet loves melodies when your in the mood
I miss making silly faces just to pissed him off
I miss throwing jokes and makes his face turns to red

I miss being in Love…

I miss those long walks side by side where our hands meet and held so tight
I miss when he makes me smile when I was feeling so blue

I miss being in Love…

I miss saying I'm sorry when it was my fault because God knows I’ve tried
But the most precious moment I miss is saying those meaningful words… I love you

Well... I don't really miss someone from my past...
I JUST SIMPLY MISS BEING IN LOVE.
Who would that be? No idea, I just know that he's gonna be worth the wait! ;)

A Time For Everything

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and a time to uproot,

A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,

A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
A time to embrace and a time to refrain,

A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,

A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,

A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace.

[ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ]

These words are words for every person, in every place, in every circumstance. God has appointed the times and seasons, the events of our lives, the happy and the sad, the easy and the difficult.

Everything has its purpose, even the cold winter storms that bring rain; goodbyes causing heartaches. We might not understand the reason, but there is a time for everything. Lets just wait with patience for the full revelation of God's mysterious providence.

Whatever is happening to us, its just the middle of God's work, not its end. He knows the beginning from the end and He has you where He wants you.

Missing You Quotes

"I think I would miss you even if I'd never met you." from the movie "The Wedding Date"

I heard someone whisper your name, but when I turned around to see who it was, I was alone. Then I realized that it was my heart telling me that I miss you.- Unknown

"I realized that I was missing something...turns out it was you." -Unknown

"... there's just an empty space, but to wait for you is all I can do and that's what I've got to face"- Against All Odds

Lessons of Love

When someone LIES to you, it teaches you that things are not always as they seem. The truth is often far beneath the surface. Look beyond the mask people wear if you want to know their heart and remove your own masks to let people know you.

When someone STEALS from you, it teaches you that nothing is forever. Always appreciate what you have, for you never know when you might lose it, and never ever take your friends and family for granted because today is the only guarantee you have.

When someone inflicts an INJURY upon you, it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one. Protect and take care of your body as best you can, it’s the only thing you are sure to have on this earth.

When someone MOCKS you, it teaches you that no two people are alike. When you encounter people who are different from you, don’t judge them by how they look or act; Instead base your opinion on the contents of their heart.

When someone BREAKS your heart, it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean that person will love you back. But doesn’t turn your back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that one person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together. A hundred folds!

When someone holds a GRUDGE against you, it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes. When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can do is forgive the offender without pretense. Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult and courageous thing man can do.

When a loved one is UNFAITHFUL to you, it teaches you that resisting temptation is man’s greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance against all temptation. By doing so you will be rewarded with an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.

When someone CHEATS on you, it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil. Aspire to make your dreams come true. No matter how lofty they may be. Do not feel guilty about your success, but never let an obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage in malevolent activities.

When someone RIDICULES you, it teaches you that nobody is perfect. Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have control.

When someone loves us, it teaches us that LOVE, KINDNESS, CHARITY, HONESTY, HUMILITY, FORGIVENESS, and ACCEPTANCE can counteract all the evil in the world.

Women are Like Apples on the Trees

I've received this message from a stranger. It was cute so I decided to post it here ;)

Here it goes;
I want you to know that women are like apples on the trees. The best ones are on the top of the tree. Most men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead they sometimes take the apples from the ground but they are not as good but easy. The apples at the top think there is something wrong with them, when in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along. The one who is brave enough to go all the way to top of the tree.

Now, men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes and its up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with

You can stomp on me anytime you want to and I am a very brave man who would climb that tree for you.......

You are very beautiful...I hope you find the man of your dreams and when you do, I hope that that man will see and understand what a precious gift he has just received!!

Watch yourself because there are wolves (men with wrong intentions) on this site

Remember to KEEP YOUR WALL up and when you can find the man who can slowly and patiently slower your wall down ..then you'll know that you have found him..

Do not be too transparent (give out too much info) on this site, leave enough to make him want to come back. And see how much he will.. if he is serious he will always contact you even if you not online.. also do not reply back at all times..make him think you're busy talking to someone else..if he truly wants you.. you will be worth the wait to him!! (I would wait for you) anyways ..

I am not expecting a reply..I just wanted to tell you .take care of yourself beautiful!

From a certain "World Traveler"

I have met a very nice man. He remain  faithful to me during the three years we were together as boyfriend and girlfriend. Sure, it was not a match made in heaven, but I can say, it was worth of my three years, being spent with him. He did everything for me to be happy, even if that could mean going out of his ways. He even did whatever my friends asked him to do without asking in return. He always carried my things even we were in front of his friends. You wouldn't see any messages in his inbox other than mine. Yeah, he is too good to be true, and I dumped him!
I know, most of my friends wanted to slap me when I made this decision. They kept telling me that I wouldn't be able to find someone like him, and I agree with them. But I guess there are things that you have to do which only your heart knows why.

New Yorker in Tondo- A Clash of Culture

Recently, I was able to watch New Yorker in Tondo which was a classic Filipino theatrical production written by Marcelino Agana Jr.

New Yorker in Tondo is a story about a Filipino named Kikay who used to live in a slum area in Tondo Manila and had a chance to live in New York. After several years of living a sophisticated life in New York, she visited Tondo again and she no longer knew how to converse using the the Filipino language because of the so-called “a culturization”.

Another character that I enjoyed was of  Aling Atang, mother of Kikay, who has been carried away by her daughter’s way of living. She tries to converse with everybody in broken English.

*Here are some of the scenes I enjoyed in this play;
Tony: Aling Atang, andyan ba si Kikay? (Aling Atang, is Kikay in?)

Aling Atang: You should not call me “Aling Atang”

Tony: Bakit hindi? (Why not?)

Aling Atang: My daughter says that it's more civilized to call me Mrs. Mendoza.

Tony: Ah sige aling… ay Mrs. Mendoza..(Ah ok aling…oh, Mrs. Mendoza)

Aling Atang :Wait a moment and I will call Franceska.

Aling Atang: Oh! And Tony..You ought not to call her Kikay.

Tony: Ano naman ang itatawag ko sa kanya? (And what shall I call her?)

Aling Atang: You ought to call her Francesca..

Tony: Francisca?

Aling Atang: Not Francisca.. Fran-CES-ca..

Tony: Pero bakit Francesca? (But why Francesca?)

Aling Atang: Because in New York , she says that’s the way they pronounce her name, it sounds like “chi-chi” so Italian, be sure to call her Francesca and not Kikay.

*Kikay and Aling Atang (Note that Aling Atang tries to speak in broken English, I just couldn’t write it here for the sake of everyone)

Kikay: Oh hello darling people!! Nena my dear!.. and Tony, my little buddy, how are you? And Totoy… my raishing! You look goodness, you look like a Tondo Super Production in Technicolor!! But sit-down everybody and let me look at you, oh mumsy!

Aling Atang: What’s the problem now?

Kikay: How many times I must tell you, never to serve fruit juices in water glasses?

Aling Atang: I couldn’t find those tall glasses you brought home.

Kikay: Oh, poor li’l mumsy. She is so clumsy, but never mind, don’t break your heart about it. Here sit down.

Aling Atang: I must be going to the market.

Kikay: Oh, don’t forget my celery. I can’t live without it. I’ like a rabbit, munch all day.

Aling Atang: Well, if you people will excuse me. Tony, remember me to your mother.

Kikay: And remember, a little bloom on the lips, a little bloom on the cheeks and say mwah, mwah!

Although it was presented in a funny way, I must say that the cultural theme of this play touched the audience. It portrays the actuality how most people likely forget their real identity once they move overseas. And this is true amongst some Filipinos abroad although we can't really blamed those folks who altered their ways because they have to incorporate themselves in the new environment that they are in. They were put in those circumstances, and they have to deal with it since in the long run, they moved to get a better life. Though, it would be much better if we build up ourselves, yet we should keep our real identity.

Let’s be proud of our nation for the reason that whichever way we look next to it, we will constantly be a Filipino.

When "But" Exists in Love

“I love him but he does not love me.”

“I love him but he loves somebody else.”

“I love him but he doesn’t know it”.

I love him but am afraid it might ruin our friendship.”

These are some of what my friends usually say to me when they ask for some advice. I am neither a “love genius” nor someone who had a degree on Bachelor of Arts in Love and Relationships. I probably can say that am an observer of life and love and I’ve learned a lot thru that. (though this wouldn’t give a license for me to advice, but anyway, we r on a democratic country…everyone is free to write whats on his mind as long as he knows his limitation)

Back to my topic…

Just like any other girl, fairytales and movies end with “…and they live happily ever after” make me believe that love exists to stand and stay- and because of that idea, I have started to dream and create my own love story for so long. They differ depending on what situations or emotions are driving me in- and believe me, those stories could probably win an Oscar award if given a chance to be seen on the big screen.

A man wearing his best suit ever while looking directly on my eyes saying how much he loves me, a romantic place where there are only two people- me and my man (and of course, our dear moon, shining his light towards us) and a nice dinner date with endless love songs playing. These are some of the content of my dreams and it feels good when you imagine yourself with someone, somewhere in those dreams, but it strikes your heart hard when you open your eyes, and finally realize that everything is just a “smoke” destined to vanished as soon as the air whispers.

What am saying? well in the real world, you could not simply say “I love you”. There is always a “but” which makes it complicated. The “but” becomes a big hindrance why people can’t simply express their feelings.

Throughout the history of lovekind, we were given the idea that love is something which is out of this world. It has been a subject of endless poems and other literatures. Both give us an idea of what love is, but it doesn’t end there because we usually question the validity ff such definition.

William Shakespeare believes in love but most of his stories often involves conflict which is the “but” in love. Romeo and Juliet love each other but society demands the opposite. Paris loves Juliet but she loves Romeo. Romeo at first loves Rosaline but she is unreachable. These are just some of the “but” which Shakespear believes in when it comes to love.

So, the bottom line here is that, why love needs to be complicated? Can’t people just love and be happy? Why instead of saying, “I love you”, we usually say, “I love you but…”?

Why is it like that? Perhaps, even Doctor love couldn’t answer that.

As for me, love becomes complicated because we make it that way. We decide how to react on certain things which evolves on love. We are the one who chooses what feeling to share or not to share.

It’s nice to be in love, but watch out to the “buts” that surrounds this word. When love becomes painful, its time to let go but for some people, its the time to hold even tighter. Its your choice anyway:-)

Just My Luck

Another funny twist-of-fate comedy movie comes from Director Donal Petrie who directed "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days" comes "Just My Luck", which stars Lindsay Lohan as Ashley Albright and Chris Pine as Jake Hardin.

"Just My Luck" is the story of Ashley Albright, a bright girl and known to be as the luckiest girl in Manhattan, where everything goes with her. But little does she know, her good fortunate is about to change in just one kiss. Jake Hardin who dreams of success as a band manager, is her exact opposite. He is a guy plagued with injustice wherein he sometimes being placed in compromising or injurious positions. When the two strangers meet and kiss at a masquerade ball, Ashley suddenly finds herself the unluckiest woman in the world while Jake having all the luck he needs. They switch paths with just a simple kiss. Ashley desperately tried to find Jake and reverse her misfortune. Ashley discovers that her terrible twist-of-fate is the luckiest thing that ever happened to her as the two fall in love with each other.

The movie, backed up with great performances is a romantic, funny and has a unique story. It's light-hearted and not to forget the performance of McFly who is currently a successful British band in reality.

"Just My Luck" shows the reality happening to some people who are experiencing good luck and bad luck. Ashley portrays those people who depends only with what they call "luck". Whatever good happens to them, they automatically say, "It's my luck!". On the other hand, when bad things happen, they usually blame their lost of their luck, and eventually lead them in frustration and the feeling of being a loser. While there are some people, portrays by Jake, who after experiencing "bad luck", turns "good luck", is still able to relate with people who don't have it so well.

The movie is is not just an ordinary teen-age movie, but it also teaches the viewer that life is not perfect. There can be good and bad times, and people must learn how to handle what life offer them. In the end, we all find learning from them.

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan

The most basic question I faced while watching the movie, “The Joy Luck Club” was, “What is my worth? It might be an ordinary dialogue design to add more drama, but the question was so striking which I couldn't simply ignore.

Amy Tan did a good job writing this novel, and Wayne Wang for putting this in the big picture. The story focuses on four Chinese immigrants families in San Francisco who started the club known as "The Joy Luck Club".

For a non-movie fanatic, the story may be a bit confusing because it's a story within a story which some people can hardy follow.

Many times in my life, I was dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions I made and the circumstances around. When I hit a wall of failure, it was often resulted in feelings of worthlessness.

Those were the moments wherein, I just found myself sitting back and pitying myself. I based my life’s worth then on what I can do and what I own.

But attending a Christian fellowship for some years taught me to trust on what God says about me. Not on what I knew and not what I saw or heard from the world. It took me through a time of rediscovery, affirming myself clearly that I was on the right track and that my worth was still derived from the truth that I am created in His image.

These truths helped me securely understand that I have a great worth. My worth is given by God and can’t be taken away by failures.

Welcome to My Blog!

I've created this blog simply to express my ideas and feelings. I often have dull moments when I feel like writing, and just trying to make something out of those dull moments. This is more like a personal blog of mine but I won't mind sharing my thoughts and feelings to others.

There are too much to say, but it's much better to let the pages show them off. So, let the keyboard runs...
